Sandra Hylton Obituary – The Arizona Republic

Sandy was born Sandra Hylton to John and Mary Zelonis on 3/8/1946 in Mahanoy, PA. Sandra’s family lived in many small towns in Pennsylvania due to her father’s job. Sandra graduated from Lansford High in Lansford, Pennsylvania. in 1964. She was the reunion queen in 1963. Sandra married Tom Blank and had 2 sons. The oldest son, Michael (Heather) lives in Oregon with 2 sons, Bryan (17) and Gus (14). Sandy was very proud of her son, Michael, an Oregon State Trooper. Her youngest son, David, died in 2015. Sandra met husband Ed Hylton in October 1995 and they married in 1998 in Washington state. Sandra wanted to live somewhere warmer, so Ed moved her back to his hometown of Phoenix, Az in August 1998. Sandra has had several jobs in Phoenix, including sales and office positions. Sandra was a friendly and welcoming person. She was the Sandy grandmother of several children in her neighborhood. She has been the first to welcome newcomers to her neighborhood for 23 years. Sandra has faced many medical issues throughout her life. Back pain caused by Pott’s disease in childhood has been a problem throughout his life. Other problems in recent years left her too weak to recover when she caught COVID in May. She passed away peacefully on 06/24/2022. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, 7/16/2022 at “Let it Roll Bowling and Entertainment” located at 8925 N. 12th Street, Phoenix, Az 85020 from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
