Jon Scott Corbitt Jr.

Goodyear – Jon Scott Corbitt, Jr, nuclear engineer and resident of Goodyear, Arizona, died suddenly on October 30, 2021 at the age of 49.

Jon Scott Corbitt, Jr was born in Evanston, Illinois to Jon and Lois Corbitt on November 5, 1971. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1982. Jon graduated from Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1989. Jon has attended college at the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering in 1996. After college, Jon spent six years in the United States Navy. Jon then worked for the Arizona Public Service at the Palo Verde Power Plant for the past fifteen years. Jon was a loyal employee who never missed a day of work.

Jon is survived by his mother, Lois Corbitt, his sisters; Julie Cleghorn and Michelle Golderman; his brother; Glenn Corbitt (Malena), nieces; Ashleigh and Jacqueline Cleghorn, Kaitlynn Goldermann, Mickaela Chavez, nephews: Shane Goldermann, Matthew Cleghorn, Michael and Adam Corbitt. Jon is predeceased by his father, Jon S Corbitt, Sr, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Jon was a sports enthusiast but mostly enjoyed reading and playing video games. Jon also loved being surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held at Best Funeral Services West Valley Chapel, 9380 West Peoria Avenue, Peoria, Arizona on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 3 p.m. A pre-service tour will begin at 2 p.m. and after service at 4 p.m. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
