Loretta (Bobbie) Johnson Obituary – The Arizona Republic

Loretta (Bobbie) Johnson passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022. Loretta was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 19, 1932, the daughter of Ruth and Archie Bigbie who had come to Phoenix, AZ in 1938. Loretta graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1951. In 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, W. Donald Johnson Jr. Don and Loretta were married for 64 years. Loretta was pursued in death by her husband, her son Barry and her parents. Loretta is survived by her daughter Cynthia Smith (David), her son Brian Johnson (Lydia), nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, her sisters, Beverly Wilkerson and Ann Green (Dennis). For 65 years, she has dedicated her life to the service of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and is currently a member of the Torchbearer Epsilon chapter. During this period, she received the following awards: the Woman of the Year Award, the Golden Circle Award and the Diamond Award. Loretta worked as an accountant for 30 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Don, especially in their condo in Cancun, relaxing in their cabin, watching Arizona State University football games, spending time with friends, and spending time with family. dear. The memorial service for Loretta will be held Friday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Bible Church, 17230 North 59th Avenue in Glendale, AZ.
