He graduated in 1955 from West Jefferson High School where he was a specialist in four sports and often said that “West Jeff provided the best childhood a child could hope for”. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Joan “Jo” (Roszman) in 1956 and after stops in Long Beach and Las Vegas, they settled in Scottsdale, Arizona to raise their family. He is also survived by; his daughters Cathy Holland-Cox (Tom Turner) of Flagstaff, Pamela (David) Kurtz of Scottsdale and son Doug (Janet) Holland of Tucson; grandchildren Austin (Kristen) Kurtz, Cole (Bailey) Kurtz, Jennifer Cox, Stephen (Ashley) Cox, Brooke (Michael) Morgan and Lee (Marissa Wheeler) Holland; and 7 great-grandchildren. As an undergrad at Ohio State University, he encouraged his Buckeyes and after earning his doctorate at Arizona State University, he also enjoyed Sun Devil sports. Lee was a lifelong athlete, playing golf, basketball, tennis or any other activity where he could spend quality time with friends and family. Lee spent 25 years as a clinical psychologist at the Washington School District in Phoenix, where he made lifelong friends with whom he remained in touch long after his retirement. He recently reflected on his life, saying “I’ve lived a dream life and I’m grateful for turning 85.” He was a voracious reader of all things science and was intellectually curious all his life. Lee and Jo have found happiness in family reunions, traveling and creating their own adventures. A celebration of life will take place in the fall.
