Joseph Hardy, 77, died June 10, 2022 in Chandler, Arizona. Joseph was born in Chicago in October 1944, his family later moved to Tucson, AZ; where he went to high school and the University of Arizona for undergraduate work and enrolled in ROTC. He then toured Vietnam for the Army Corps of Engineers as a lieutenant during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Tucson to complete his MBA and joined the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. While working on his master’s degree, he met his wife Joyce, to whom he was married until she precedes him in death in 2019. They lived in Tucson and also had a home in Ellsworth, Maine, where they loved to spend the summers. For his senior year, he moved from Tucson to Phoenix so he could spend more time with his sons, Tim and Scott, and his grandchildren. Joseph loved U of A Wildcat Football, traveled to Hawaii and Europe, and collected art. He is survived by his sons Tim and Scott Hardy and his brother Don Hardy. Services will be held Saturday, August 13 at the Tempe Mortuary (405 E Southern Ave) from 1-2 p.m. After the service, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Spokes on Southern (1470 E Southern Ave) from 3-5 p.m.
