Janice Wanda (Anderson) Brechler
09/17/1935 – 11/22/2021
Longtime Arizona resident Janice Brechler, 86, passed away peacefully at the Inn in Peoria on November 22, 2021.
Janice was born and raised in Humboldt County, Iowa; attended Goldfield High School and the University of Northern Iowa, Teaching College.
Although Janice spent most of her life in the Phoenix area, she left behind many beloved families, friends, and memories of her life in Iowa. Janice married her college sweetheart, Ronald C. Brechler (Engineer, University of Iowa) of Hardy, Iowa and lived a great life together for over 59 years. Jan was a loving wife; a fun, silly, caring mother and grandmother; loyal friend; teacher; walker; tennis player; avid golfer; gardener; in love with all things Arizona; and has been actively involved in the North Phoenix community for many years. She was happiest being outside in the sun, spending time with her husband, laughing and sharing coffee with friends, laughing with her grandchildren, and spending time with her children and their families. Jan was an unassuming farm girl from Iowa who lived her life to the fullest and will forever be known for her laughter, her joy, her love of life, and the happiness she passed on to those around her.
Janice is loved and survived by her son, Chris Brechler of Minden, daughter of Nevada, Stacey Brechler-Knaggs of Flagstaff, Arizona; and her daughter, Erin Haluza of Evergreen, Colorado. She is also survived by five cherished grandchildren – Annelyse Brechler (30), Colleen Knaggs (28), Matthew Knaggs (20), Tyler Haluza (19) and Camryn Haluza (18); in addition to adored sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. She is predeceased and joined in heaven with her husband, Ronald C. Brechler.
Also predeceased by his parents Andrew and Christine, his brothers Roger, Leland, Lemont (Alton) and his sister Marilyn.
