Nick Raffoul writes: “California is coming off arguably their best performance of the season, but it’s hard to see the Golden Bears sustaining that in this game. The Sun Devils are playing their best basketball of the season and they’ve scored a few- some pretty impressive wins despite their dismal overall record Arizona State has wins over Oregon, Creighton, UCLA, Washington State and Colorado The Sun Devils have also been tough to beat at home , which bodes well for their chances here. Take Arizona State to cover in this Thursday night game.”
He writes, “As a team, California is allowing opponents just 65.1 points per game and Arizona State is allowing 68.3. On defense, California is averaging 4.8 steals per game. and Arizona State averaged 6.6. California has a slight homecourt advantage-goal percentage, but HomeCourt’s advantage should put Arizona State in a win.”
bigal.com: ASU 76, California 60
Amedeus Mastrangelo writes: “California come into this game off a win in their last game, but they’ve lost 2 of their last 3 games and they’ve been very inconsistent lately. They’re on the road for this game where they don’t have not been good this season with a 2-7 record and they have been much worse against conference play than ASU this season ASU has not been great at home this season with a 7- 6 but that’s not bad either and they’ve really warmed up in their last games ASU have won their last 2 games in a row and they’ve won 5 of their last 6 games before this one they’ve also won their last 2 home games in double digits and they’ve won 3 of their last 4 home games even knocking out a ranked team in that span ASU has played much better than California has recently and ASU has gained a lot of steam in their last games here to end the season. ASU will continue to continue in this game and they should win at home here by double digits.”

ATS.IO: Go with ASU against California
Vincent Senick writes, “Arizona State visited the Utah Utes and survived with a 63-61 win. The Sun Devils were leading by double digits with less than six minutes left, but Utah fought back and tied the game with less than 30 seconds left. Marreon Jackson got the game-winning layup with six seconds left to keep the good feelings going for ASU Jay Heath had a great night with 20 points, three rebounds and an assist Utah shot 44.2 percent from the field , 26.1% from beyond the arc, and made nine of his 13 free throws.”
Stat Salt: Take ASU vs. California
Travis Lord writes: “This game is vital for the Sun Devils, both to secure a win and to impress the selection committee. Their strong defensive skills will play against a weak California offense. They allow an opposing shooting percentage of just 40 .3%, an opposed three-point shooting percentage of just 31.3%, and they rank 62nd in blocks. They put those stats up against an incredibly tough roster, so the California offense that is ranked 244th in shooting percentage, 264th in three-point shooting percentage, and 319th in three-pointers scored will have an even harder time getting points on the board Score the points (-7.5) and take the Sun Devils.
ESPN: ASU has a 73% chance of winning against California
The site’s Basketball Power Index gives California a 27% chance of winning at Arizona State.
