Arizona State men’s basketball prepares to face Florida A&M

About ratters: Florida A&M is playing the third of three games on the West Coast and is coming off a 73-62 loss at UC Santa Barbara which marked its fifth straight loss. Senior guard MJ Randolph and second-year guard Jalen Speer each had 16 points in the loss. Randolph (19.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg) is the team’s leading scorer, followed by Speer (10.3 ppg). The Rattlers, 0-8 in road games this season, are averaging 62.5 points per game, which ranks them 321 out of 351 division teams in that department. Florida A&M was 8-12 last season and is now part of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

About Sun Devils: ASU saw its three-game winning streak snapped Sunday with a 66-65 loss to San Francisco. The Sun Devils are 3-3 this season in games decided by five points or less. They have an average of 64.2 points, which is 310th in Division I. They are however 141 in defense (66.8 ppg) in defense, senior forward Kimani Lawrence (11.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg) managed six double-doubles on the season, one of those coming in Sunday’s loss. DJ Horne (13.4 ppg) and Marcus Bagley (10 ppg) are also averaging double digits, although Bagley has missed the last nine games with a knee injury.
