Super 10 Baseball
1. Chandler Hamilton Huskies, 6-0
The nation’s seventh-ranked team now face a gauntlet of top competition this week in the Boras Classic, where the best teams in the West will play. They have the arms to win with a front spin from Logan Saloman and Kole Klecker.
2. Glendale Mountain Ridge Lions, 6-0
They remain just behind Hamilton, but have a formidable task Wednesday when they open at 9 a.m. against Las Vegas national powerhouse Bishop Gorman in the Boras Classic.
3. Gilbert Perry Pumas, 8-1
They take a big step forward in the Super 10 after a decisive 10-1 win over Scottsdale Chaparral. Arizona State utility and pitcher Stephen Hernandez went 7-for-11 with two doubles and two home runs last week. But they’ll have a huge challenge next Monday when they take on Florida’s IMG Academy in the Big Bob Invitational.
4. Nogales Apaches, 3-0
They start the Lancer Classic on Monday after not playing for 10 days.
5. Chandler Wolves, 6-2
They lost to Hamilton last week. They’re gearing up to play four Colorado teams in one week.
6. Mesa Red Mountain Lions, 2-4
Their three losses last week came in California against big teams – Santa Ana Mater Dei, Temecula Valley and Santa Margarita – who have a total of 24 wins so far this season. These losses will only make the Lions more difficult in the 6A playoffs.
7. Bear Chandler Basha, 8-1
Young team led by junior infielder Brady Lord capable of beating anyone.
8. Peoria Sunrise Mountain Mustangs, 7-1
They’ve allowed a total of six runs in the last four games and have a solid offense, led by Cruz Oxford.
9. Phoenix Horizon Huskies, 8-1
They have scored at least eight points in their last seven games. Open Boras Classic on Wednesday against 8-2 Basic of Henderson, Nevada.
10. Sahuarita Walden Grove Red Wolves, 8-0
Stepping into the Super 10 for the first time after beating Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep 17-2, handing the Saints their first loss and knocking them out of the Super 10.
