On December 31, 2021, ANDREA HINOJOS JOHNSON left to live in Eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ.

Andrea was born on April 10, 1944 in Sonora, Arizona. The glory of her life are her two beloved children: Robert Gutierrez of Norfolk, Virginia and Christina Lenhart of Castle Pines, Colorado. Andrea was completely devoted to her children and made them the center of her life. She worked tirelessly for them in her youth, they were her pride and joy. Christina described her mother, Andrea: “Mom was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a shining light wherever she went and impacted so many lives with her encouraging words and prayer. Mom loved helping and mentoring women in need. She was so strong in her faith and loved talking to people about Jesus. She lived her life joyfully to the fullest. She was the best mom ever. Andrea married the love of his life, Rick Johnson in September 1989. The two men knew the moment they met that they were meant for each other.Rick and Andrea were an amazing couple, dependent on each other each other for love, support, understanding and much more. Andrea will be deeply missed by Robert, Christina and Rick and many others. Andrea’s tender and loving personality will never be forgotten. She has absolutely made the world a better place in so many worthwhile ways.

Whether you knew Andrea by her first name, or by Mrs. Johnson or “Mom”, you knew that her heart was always open to reach out and give love and help to anyone who needed it. This incredible woman will be remembered as an extremely intelligent and compassionate person who never turned away anyone in need. She looked for ways to be helpful in all walks of her life. She was always asking and answering the question, “What would Jesus do?” Indeed, she walked in her way. Andrea was a very perceptive listener. She always made everyone feel important and worthy. She did this when she counseled incarcerated women in her dedication to women’s prison ministry. Andrea always took the time to listen, advise and love whatever the circumstances. She didn’t judge, she helped. Andrea was a superb employee for Motorola in Mesa, AZ for 28 years. She was an admired and valued employee. Sonora, AZ’s granddaughter Andrea has become the supervisor of Motorola’s space and technology division. Andrea has always been a proud American.

Andrea was welcomed into heaven by her mother Dolores and her father, Andres Hinojos and her older sister, Patricia Hinojos.

A celebration of life for Andrea Hinojos Johnson will be held at the Living Word Bible Church in Mesa, AZ on March 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
